Divine Wooltops

To choose a Divine Wooltops product select one of the three colour palettes and then click on that palette photo in the sub categories at the bottom of this page.

Divine Wooltops are created from superbly soft, skin friendly merino wool. Once felted or spun, they are ideal for wrapping those beloved young children in, layering around your neck on a chilly winter's day or sliding around your bare shoulders on a cool summer's eve.

Wooltops (felting wool) are the raw wool off the sheep's back that has been scoured and combed into long, thick rope-like forms. Most commercial woollen yarns are chemically treated these days to stop the wool felting (superwashed) so we buy our wooltops before this process has occurred because we want our wool to felt.

The diameter of an individual wool fibre is measured in micron. The softer the wool, the smaller the micron measurement. The smaller the micron, the better the wool will felt. Divine Wooltops have been been carefully chosen from the finest 18 to 19 micron wool fibre.

Our Divine Wooltops are professionally dyed, ensuring a high level of colour fastness and colour repeatability. We take the extra effort to have our felting wool re-combed to eliminate any matting from the dyeing process.

For ideas on how to felt Divine Wooltops, click on the instructions link on the left hand side of this page. Adding soap, water and movement to the Divine Wooltops felting wool is a wonderful non-toxic way to create beautiful hand made felt . Our felting wool can also be needle felted by hand or on a machine embellisher, or hand spun into knitting wool.

The thirty three solid colours in the Divine Wooltops range have been developed with soul and attitude. The colours were designed to harmonise with each other so three colour palettes have been created: earths, brights and neutrals.
