Corrie Wooltops
Corrie Wooltops
The Corrie Wooltops range, both dyed and undyed, is wool from Corriedale sheep that has been scoured and combed into rope-like sliver(or roving). It is a 30 micron broad fibre wool. It has not been superwashed so is good for felting as well as spinning.
To purchase, scroll to the bottom of this page and choose your required category.
Due to it's broad fibre and springy nature, the Corrie Wooltops range is ideal for needle felting . If you enjoy sculpting then you'll love this range. The Corrie Wooltops can be needlefelted in a flat form or three dimesional to create animals, dolls or whatever shape you desire.
The Corrie Wooltops wet-felt well and produces a strong, slightly fibrous felt that is great for hard wearing projects like slippers, rugs, bags or wall works. The broad fibre means it does have a prickle factor so is not as suitable for wearing next to the skin. See our Divine Wooltops range for wet-felting wooltops that produce a super soft felt .
We offer a range of Dyed Corrie and Undyed Corrie Wooltops. Our dyed range offers fourteen solid colours. Our undyed range includes White, Brown Ash and Pepper, all pictured above.
The palm-sized owl below was whipped up in the Fibre Fusion Studio using a 36 guage felting needle, about 20 gms of brown Ash Corrie Wooltops as the base and another 5 gms of contrasting Corrie Wooltops colours.
When needle felting a three dimensional object such as a doll or animal, it is usual to create your base(which may be two thirds of your fibre requirements) out of a nondescript colour that won't show through the final decorative coloured layers that are needle felted on to the object.. The mid range colours in the Undyed Corrie Wooltops are ideal for this.
We accept special orders for larger quantities or extra colours on request. Send us an email or phone us for further information.
