These delightful mohair curls are  sourced from prized Angora goats here in Australia.

We have them handyed by a local artisan who lovingly hand washes and  combs them to remove  organic matter (grasses etc)  and then casts her colour spell on them. They are incredibly soft and have a silk-like lustre when wet felted into wool fibres such as our Divine Wooltops or Felbi Prefelts.

Due to their handcrafted nature, these mohair locks can contain a small amount of organic matter and may not be as colour fast as our commercially dyed ranges of wool fibres.  

Mohair locks make delightful hair for needle felting projects such as little angels or dolls. They also add wonderful visual interset when integrated into the silk paper making process.

Mohair curls also form a great fringe when their ends are wet felted into the edge of a scarf made from our Divine Wooltops or Felbi Prefelts. Spreading out the end of the lock that  contacts with the wool fibres and then topping with another another very  thin layer of wool fibre will ensure the mohair integrates in the wool fibres  when wet- felted. The fringe end of the locks will retain their integrity as locks and not felt together as long as they do not come into contact with any wool fibre due the felting process.  The curls can also be thinned out and laid on top of  wool fibres as embellishment when wet felting or machine embellishing. 

The curls are approximately 8cm
to 12 cm in length.  They  are incredibly  soft and have a beautiful lustre.  The colours are  variegated rather than solid and are generally not repeatable.

We have tried to photograph the colours as true as possible but please keep in mind that  all computers can display colours differently. These mohair locks are in limited supply so get them whilst you can!
