Fibre Fusion was established in 2004

Fibre Fusion is based in Melbourne Australia.  We now sell world wide.

Why was it started?
Chrissy, a felt maker was frustrated with the lack of high quality felting supplies available so she decided to create her own. Her business objective was to offer textile artists, particularly felt makers and spinners, a superb colour pallet on the finest of Australian merino felting wool. How can you go wrong?

Chrissy Lauritz has had a life long love affair with textiles. It started from age two, sitting in that pink fairy dress on the back fence.  Then her  mum, Margaret filled her head with stories of the 1950’s when all the Melbourne girls went to dance halls every night of the week.

Having little money, Margaret would sew up a stunning ball gown on her  old treadle sewing machine.  No patterns, no tutoring.  All self taught at the ripe old age of sixteen. That ball gown would undergo a metamorphis every few days.  A new sash, beads sewn on, a skirt ripped off and replaced or  perhaps  ruffled organza added to the neck line .  Anything to make that dress look new again. 

As she grew Chrissy  watched her Mum knit all the woollen jumpers for the extended family, crochet dresses and macramé wall hangings.  Little wonder Chrissy ended up in textiles.  Felt making is her passion. Felting supplies is her business. Hopefully she can continue to pass on the legacy of a love of textiles to a new generation.

Fusion is a family business.  Fibre Fusion Pty Ltd acts as trustee for the Fibre Fusion Family Trust trading as Fibre Fusion.
